On our final day it poured with rain. We had already done all the things we had planned, so spent the day shopping in Macy's and down 34th Street.
This time there was no queue to see Santa so we decided to go and see him! We couldn't get a photo of us with him, but here are some pictures of his grotto!

After lunch we went to see the 9/11 memorial. We had thought that we would go round the museum, but it's not open until next year so we just saw:
The south tower memorial

The new freedom tower
The north tower memorial
We then went to see the cathedral church of St John the divine. It got dark really quickly while we were in the subway!
A small dinner at the Hummus Place before our cupcake icing class
So much hummus!
At Butter Lane learning how to make their special frosting.
We made the chocolate frosting.
The cupcakes (already made) which we're about to ice
Mike's cupcakes!
Hannah's cupcakes!
McSorley's Ale House to meet Mike's brother who happened to be holidaying in New York at the same time!
Me pretending there's chance that I would actually drink that beer!

On Monday morning we set out to the Rockerfeller Centre to see the big Christmas tree there and the ice skating. Prices are crazy for ice skating, though, so we didn't skate - it would have cost around $70 for both of us!
This is with the Christmas tree and Rockerfeller centre in the background

We walked down 5th Avenue and looked at all the Christmas window displays, Tiffany definitely had the second best windows!

It was hard to take good close up pictures though due to all the mirrors in their displays
The Apple store

People ice skating in Central Park
Next time we're in New York we are doing this!

Lunch at Capital Grill

Yes that is a photo of us the waitress took for us and printed and framed to sit on our table while we ate!

We arrived into New York at 5:45am, and got the subway to our hotel in Brooklyn. We left our luggage and headed over to Macy's. They definitely had the best Christmas window displays of all the top shops.

The queue to see Santa was incredibly long, but they have a window where you can see Santa sitting in his grotto.
We headed back to Brooklyn and went to Grimaldi's for lunch. The best pizza!
You have to wait outside until they call you in to be seated!
Mike with his Brooklyn lager
Grimaldi's is right by the Brooklyn bridge
and you get amazing views of Manhattan!
At the Lincoln Centre they were setting up for the world premiere of War Horse
And we went to see the Nutcracker!
Outside on the balcony waiting for the ballet to start
Inside the theatre
We weren't allowed to take any more pictures but it was a great performance!
